Breakout of Fungal Infection

Tomorrow I will be taking care of a fungal infection. I know what your thinking - Dee has yeast infection!! No, silly, my trees have yeast ahem fungal infection. But like the yeast infection white spots appear all over the trees bark and if they are fruit trees you may even get fungus seeping inside your fruits.

I have two custurd apple trees, one lemon tree, two mango trees, one neem tree, two berry trees, one cheeku tree one banana tree and two pomegranate trees and they are all have the fugal infection.

The soil is ridden with all kinds of ants, aphids, slugs and caterpillars. There are these green caterpillars that look very pretty but if they come in contact with your skin - its freakin' hell to pay. One fell on my arm, stung me and I had some circular rings form on my arm along with swelling.

And the pain! Don't even get me started on it!

My new hybrid roses have died thanks to the fungal infection, the trees are all whitish, fruits rotten and damn termites have also appeared.

Till last year I didnt give a rat's ass about my garden and things were fine- (except for that one longish snake that had a run in with me) we enjoyed fruits, lazed around and then wham the damn garden decided to turn against me when I decided to take up gardening.

Diseases and Pests have become the bane of my life. Anything I plant gets eaten or diseased and its fucking frustrating. I keep pulling the weeds out and they seem to re-appear at a nearby spot. I even cut down a damn unknown tree and it seems to be returning.

Gardening requires fortitude and patience and unfortunately I seem to have neither but at the same time I am not known to be a sore loser. The war may be lost ( one can't win over nature) but the battle will go on!

Oh no, Dee - don't get rid of all those pests (except termites). All are good for your garden if not for you. And sandwiches taste great with red ants in them. Crunchy and full of protein (I'm not going to give you any hints if I'm joking or am serious).

I follow the "deal with it" philosophy in my garden (which in the interests of full disclosure looks quite sorry). If a disease strikes a plant, don't expect me to help. If the plant survives, welcome to my garden. This spartan philosophy gives rise to a terrific low maintenance yard.

Finally, best way to kill weeds is to grow ground cover like English Ivy or such-like. Another low-maintenance tip from a lazy gardener.

Deepti, I don't agree to two focal points that end this post :)

You have fortitude else how did you endure the pain and never posted anything concering it even though you were pricked by a green caterpillar. To have a run in with snake requires guts :)

Patience is always there, else how come year on year the garden gave you fruits and space to laze around. You definitely would have done something good to reap the benefits, am I wrong here..

The white thingie, pest attack and fungal infection you are talking about is a common affair I guess, with changing weather, transition in temp..Not that I am a guru in tapping all these, just have heard a few points from my maa and have seen her tackle all these..I am sure with time you would also learn the remedies for the plants and handle these deftly..

Carry on with the good work and never give up...
