Thirteen Year Olds Face Trial For Butt Slapping
Boys who pat girls butts and breasts at school may find themselves registered as sex offenders.
Cory Mashburn and Ryan Cornelison, both 13, were arrested in February after they were caught in the halls of Patton Middle School, in McMinnville, Ore., slapping girls on the rear end. Mashburn told ABC News in a phone interview that this was a common way of saying hello practiced by lots of kids at the school, akin to a secret handshake.
I can understand suspending the kids but putting them in juvenile and registering the kids as sex offenders is hitting it too hard. What the kids need, what the school needs is a good therapist, teachers and parents talking to children about appropriate behavior around the opposite sex.

I think the lawyers have to much money and time what the hay, this world is bad enought with out this. Maybe the parents should go to school and see how the girls act and dress,& the poor teacher can't do anything any more because the kids will tell on them, but on the other hand they call teacher names & do what ever they want.Maybe the lawyers should go back to school and see whats up.

i think all of this is crazy kids are tought every day by school football coaches that it is alright to slap others behinds on and off the feild pro football on nationwide tv do the same thing and it has been going on for years so to punish these students for this is ubsurd they should change the rules to school policy if nothing else.

The United States has taken sexual abuse to a ridicules level. It is equivalent to the Salem Witch hunt days and having the “scarlet letter” placed on you forever. When I was 16 years old in high school, I often had sex with the girls I dated, the girls wanted it too, they had surging hormones also. We were both under age since most high school kids are under 18. Do schools now need to post warning signs that sex with a classmate could result in jail time? Come on now! Is the next step issuing sex licenses? How about a drivers permit first?
As an adult, I would never be a teacher of kids or be a mentor in the Big Brother program. The reason being, kids today have power over adults like never before. They can say you abused them and ruin your life, even if not true. Kids are now using this tactic with each other, which is sad. All you need to do is give a kid a hug, and you could end up in jail. You can not win in court when you are up against a kid’s false testimony. I have chosen to avoid the possible trouble, and as a result society will have one fewer excellent child mentor.
The rest of the world laughs at the United States constant obsession with sex. I laugh at us too, we place too much attention on our groins in this country.

Here we go again, another PC response to a hormonally induced child's behavior. Folks it is time for people to take back the right to raise their children and to teach children how to behave in public and private. We have become a nation of whiners, expecting "government" to be on the spot acting where we failed to act. This is not about a couple of boys finding out girls feel good. This is about learning how each individual needs to "govern " themselves. Just going to the principals office should be enough. But no our sorry crybaby "keep me safe thinking" says we must have police and lawyers involved in every aspect of our life. I am surprised we do not have cameras over the baby changing tables in public restrooms. Lets terrorize all parents and siblings so no one will want to hug or kiss their child in public, and god forbid a girl should hold the hand of some young boy, that she should know that he cares for her. People change the law that says we have to write a new law for everything that happens in life.

I hope the authorities don't ruin those kids lives.
They need a good 'man to man' talking to about being perfect gentlemen around ladies and all that jazz but this whole charade is a bit too much too swallow

These kids are the pits - they represent the degradation of society. Whip them, I say!
