Things That Bang

Bedsheets bearing the Swastika symbol have caused quite a commotion in the Jewish community in Mumbai. The bedsheets have been promoted under the NAZI tag- New Arrival Zone of India:

"We Jews believe that the best part of living in India is that it is a country that has never ridiculed us or harmed us," said Jonathan Solomon, chairman of the Indian Jewish Federation.

But the furnishing dealer Kapilkumar Todi shrugged off the community's protests:

"It really does not matter to me who feels bad about it,"

The makers of the bedsheets were also quick to point out that the swastika is originally a Hindu Symbol but then again why would a devout Hindu sleep on a 'divine' symbol? Given the kind of intense fervor over the Rama Bridge Issue I am surprised that the Hindutva crowd let this slip through the cracks.

Wake up Saffronites!! Someone may make love over the swastika and scream Heil Hitler!!
